Mouled Sidi El-Latini

Oriental Jazz | Egypt | 2006

Eftekasat is one of the most active and well-established Egyptian independent music groups. Their original compositions can be classified as oriental jazz / jazz rock fusion, verging at times on World music. Their first album, 'Mouled Sidi El-Latini' (The Latin Dervish), is a fantasy project that takes us onto the scene of a celebration taking place somewhere in Latin America. As this celebration goes on, an Arabic Mouled is introduced until the two carnivals fuse together, to become one beautiful celebration of mixed cultures, languages and musical styles.
