Soapkills’ blend of traditional Arabic music and trip hop has made them the best-known duo of the Middle Eastern Underground, and one of its finest exports. In addition to touring Europe and the Arab world extensively, Soapkills have appeared on the soundtracks to several Arab movies, including Ghassan Salhab’s ‘Terra Incognita’ and Elia Suleiman’s ‘Divine Intervention’. This first album also features local musicians Rabih Mroué (flute) and Walid Sadek (trumpet), for an enticing mixture of dub, trip hop, and Arabic synthesized pop.
