The Moon Fades
Classical Oriental | Iraq | 2004
Iraqi musician Naseer Shamma is one of the most esteemed and prolific oud players in the world today. He is the only musician to have built an eight-string oud following the manuscript of Al-Farabi, which expanded the musical range of the oud and gave it a distinct tonality. Naseer Shamma is at his best in this special edition of a Boston concert, playing some of his most famous tunes. A pure moment of bliss: sensitivity and inspiration served by an irreproachable technique.
