Joelle Khoury is a piano teacher at the National Conservatory and the leader of the In-version jazz band. The latter have released 2 albums, ‘Tumbling up’ and ‘Is it so’, both of which have received wide popular and critical acclaim. ‘Music & Poetry’ situates itself in the realm of contemporary classical music; it adapts poetry by Rilke, Heine, Goethe and Nadia Tueini into lieder for soprano and chamber orchestra. Recorded with members of the National Lebanese Orchestra, the album successfully combines modern melodic research and classical romanticism of the 19th century.
