The long awaited album by vocalist Rasha Rizk and her husband, composer and guitarist Ibrahim Suleimani, finally came out in 2007. Itar Shameh has been performing since the year 2000, playing rock, soul, jazz and latin music, with some oriental tunes and Arabic lyrics thrown in the mix. This unique project by one of the most experienced alternative Syrian bands builds on Rasha Rizk’s masterful use of different vocal techniques, and features experienced jazz musicians Arthur Satyan on piano and keyboards, Fouad Afra on drums, and Omar Harb on bass guitar.
