Born in Beirut in 1961. He studied Graphic Design in London from 1977 to 1982 where he subsequently spent ten years as a freelance illustrator. He worked as a designer on commercials and animated films. He directed his first film, a documentary, entitled Beyrouth: les barbiers de cette ville in 1998. Then follow the short films Mabrouk Again! (1999), Du poil de la bête (2002) and After Shave - Beyrouth après rasage (2004). He won César French prize for best short film" Milleur court Métrage " in 2006. He is currently working on his first full-length feature Melodrama Habibi.
