Hal Asmar Ellon
Oriental Jazz | Syria | 2006
Vocalist Lena Chamamyan and trumpeter Bassel Rajoub put traditional syrian songs into a new mould, bringing together oriental classical singing and jazz instruments and arrangements. The result is an intimate personal look at the folklore of their country and the story of their people. The album was produced by the “Culture Resource” (Al-Mawred Al-Thaqafy), a regional non-profit organization that seeks to support artistic creativity in the Arab region, after winning this organization's "best potential album for 2006" award.
