The first recording by the Lebanese “ Arabic Music Heritage Ensemble”, a young but very serious group that aims to practice the artistic musical tradition of the Near East in depth, and transmit it to the largest public possible, while respecting its intrinsic rules.
The instruments used are the ‘ûd (short-necked lute), the riqq (tambourine), both belonging to the conventional ensemble that performs this tradition, in addition to the buzuq, a long-necked lute of the Lebanese popular tradition, and the santûr, tabular cithara, used in the Iraqi and Iranian traditions, but adapted here by Hayaf Yassine to the artistic tradition of the Near East.
