On Friday, December 18, 2009, at 8pm, at the Church of St. Maron – Gemmayzeh – Beirut.
This concert is jointly programmed by the second Festival of Sacred Music - Downtown Beirut and the release of the Taqâlîd/Incognito CD collection, and will be followed by a dedicatory reception.

The Taqâlîd collection, which has been in preparation for almost 2 years, is devoted to traditional musical expressions from the Arab world, with a range of musical genres extending from religious practices to parareligious mysticism to secular art music. Distancing itself from literal conservatism, but also from the “World Music” approach, the editorial line of this collection emphasizes revitalization and creativity within living Tradition.
This tendency also appears in the choices — at once creative and rooted — of the graphic line, based on Arab calligraphy, which frames the compact disks.

The Taqâlîd team:
Artistic direction: Nidaa Abou Mrad
Production: Tony Sfeir
Calligraphy: Samir Sayegh
Graphic Design: Karma Tohmé
